This was my first painting for the year 2011. A fresh new start, a fresh new art. It depicted the very colorful and of course beautiful Vinta. This was also the first painting I made wherein I applied my techniques in ink. The ever detailed linestyle that I was very fond of in my pen and ink artworks, I used it in here, experimenting what style would come out. Fortunately, it's a style I could be proud of.

Here is a comic spoof of the Amazing yes-he-is. Set in the urban corners of the Philippines, Garapitik, ang gagambang may pitik (or should I say may saltik?) fought criminals with stockings on their faces and semi-functional brain(s) in their thick heads. But of course, nameless goons will never be enough for us. There must be a mastermind. Doctor Ocpusit! Was that Elton John playing the piano in the last page? Well, just enjoy the action and laugh with the plot's irreverence. A warning though, NOT FOR KIDS. Click on the image for the original (bigger) size.

CONTRA: Best 8-Bit Game Evarrrr

This is it guys! Contra! My most beloved 8-bit game! Actually even if I consider ranking my favorite games of all time, regardless of bit resolution or for whatever console, Contra will still be competitive at the top. As a kid I had always wanted to see the stories of the games I played. Sometimes dubbing my own dialogues into my characters gave me much more fun. Hey fellow Contra fans out there, please don't take this seriously, it's a parody! Have fun :-)


*In the game, the characters were actually named Bill and Lance. But I grew up calling them Contra (the one you use when you choose 1 PLAYER), and in this crappy article, I'd like to call the other one Rambo, because he looked like Rambo (at least for me :-).

MANG BEN KYOMIKS: BAKALTOS!

Isang istorya ng rags to riches, ang magbabakal na si Juju Vilangnwebe ay nagsumikap sa junk shop nang mahabang panahon (mga mahigit sampung dekada).  Sa araw-araw na pakikipagbuno sa kalawang at grasa siya'y tinaguriang D.O.M. --ang maduming mashonders. Subalit balot man ng kalawang ang puso, nanatiling senior citizen ang kanyang sense of justice (may ilang haka-hakang ka-batch niya si Kalantiaw). 

"They say ang ngiti ng tao ay depende sa katayuan niya sa buhay."

This February 28, GMA NEWS TV will start airing. Most people might think, "Oh news... very serious." NOT exactly folks, some shows will still try to tickle you. May Tamang Balita is one of them. This show is a news parody, but I'm still not sure how much. Will they feature real news, but with funny execution? Or newscast a total joke? We'll just see, May Tamang Balita will air starting March 4, that's a Friday, at 8 PM . Of course, GMA NEWS TV channel 11.
