I'm glad I got to squeeze a little time tonight to reupdate my blog. It's been a long while that this channel of my life went to say something. Yeah. So here's what I have in my mind right now.

Harry Potter Saga Illustrated in 8 Posters by Lucy Knisley

Hi guys, been out for long time. Sorry, I'll be back I'm sure of that. For the mean time I'd just like to share this. Found it at this address, http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/07/07/harry-potter-comics/ go check it out. The website itself has lots of entertaining stuff for people like us. Well, back to this subject, I just found this very cool and funny. Great job Ms. Lucy Knisley, I'll be searching for more of your works. The Complete Story of Harry Potter Illustrated in 8 Posters by Lucy Knisley

The eighth and final Harry Potter movie, The Deathly Hallows Part 2, hits theaters in a little over a week, and to celebrate this final cinematic chapter in the life of everyone's favorite adolescent wizard, French Milk creator Lucy Knisley has illustrated an amazing set of eight Harry Potter posters that detail the plot of the entire series.

Obviously, there's a lot packed into these, so if you like the looks of them I recommend heading over to Lucy's site -- where you can download the posters for free at a higher resolution -- and checking out the poster that combines all eight illustrations into one massive Harry Potter mega-story!

Illustrations: RIZAL 150 Years

This kept me busy for a while. In celebration for Jose Rizal's 150th, GMA NEWS TV aired plugs to commemorate the Philippine national hero's contributions in the world. The said plug focused on some points that were rarely talked about, perhaps I could put them as the not so popular trivia about Rizal. That gave the good chills, the elation of rarity.

Upon doing the graphics, I found it really difficult to search for the photos needed. For example, the Sulpakan and the 3 animals Rizal discovered in Dapitan during his exile, the images were available but not too usable as for resolution-conscious dudes like us. That's the very reason for this post's existence. I'm uploading here illustrations I made, in good resolution for people who need them. I'm totally ok if you want to use these babies for whichever goodness it may serve as long as it's non-profit and you credit me for hurting my hand in drawing these fine artworks. A contribution to the man's heroic legacy.

Rizal invented a cigarette lighter, which he called sulpakan, and sent it to Blumentritt in 1887 as a gift. The lighter used a compressed air mechanism.  --I wish I could credit the person who wrote this.

BAGOONG DRAGON

This title card above was an attempt to revive this unfinished work of mine early this year.

Bagoong Dragon was a comic (as in comedic) and action-packed graphic novel I did in the year 2003. It tells about a lost guy with no memories. No known origin, no known relatives, absolutely nothing. The only clue he had that could connect him to his past was a single photograph of a funny (rather odd) looking guy he found in his pocket when he woke up in the rubble of what seemed like a ruined science infrastructure. He then started the pursuit of his lost past and little by little discovered surprising skills that he never knew he had or existed. Then unbelievably laugh-cracking antics and trouble all mixed together.

The graphic novel was never finished. Although I was already through writing the story, I only reached halfway in the illustration phase. And the biggest "unfortunately" I could ever write here is that I lost more than  half of the illustrated pages I had when one of my illustration portfolios had gone missing in late 2006. Well that took me hard enough to accept. Anyway, early this year I went back into rethinking the concept of this book. I came back into conceptualization and finally revised almost the whole flow of the story. At that same time, I did the rough storyboarding and finished approximately 35% of the shortened story.

Sadly, I have no plans of remaking this unfinished graphic novel right now. I have just finished Basag-Tuka and currently illustrating the next title (which actually has no final title yet). I don't know, the list just goes on and poor little Bagoong Dragon is still far down. I'm just posting these old illustrations as to mark my memory that I once had these, in case I lost the remaining pages and my memories just like my main dude here.
